Periodic inspections are regulated by standards for both fire-fighting tanks and drinking-water tanks. Tank Inspection without Draining

Using an underwater drone equipped with cameras makes internal tank inspection without draining a practical reality. The drone functions as a mini-submarine, fitted with temperature, altitude, and tilt sensors, and operated from a console with a monitor and DVR recorder. The HD cameras allow video recording and close-up images that complement the inspection report.

• The level of sediment and sludge deposits, the condition of wall corrosion, hydraulic components, roof support columns, and even the roof structure itself can be visually assessed.
• No additional inspection equipment is required, such as ladders or scaffolding, to record issues in hard-to-reach areas.
• By attaching an ultrasonic sensor/probe for thickness measurement, paint and anticorrosive coating thicknesses can be determined directly, saving both time and the water that would normally be discharged during traditional drained inspections.
• Water samples can be collected from various areas by mounting the robotic arm and sampling container.
